Seva Pakhwada – Fostering Innovation among School Students

To inspire, nurture, and empower young minds by fostering innovation, problem-solving, and creativity during Seva Pakhwada. The initiative aims to build awareness about innovation and provide students with a platform to transform their ideas into tangible prototypes, ultimately contributing to nation-building through innovation and startup.

Key Activities & Timeline

1. Invitation to Schools – 15th September 2025

• Formal invitations to all schools to participate in the Seva Pakhwada Innovation Ideathon.

• Brochure and guidelines to be shared with schools.

• Teachers will act as guides to help students identify relevant problems and solutions.

2. Online Registration – Closing on 20th September 2025

• Students will register their ideas on the Virtual Innovation Register (VIR) under Seva Pakhwada Ideathon.

• Registration link will be shared with schools.

• Ideas should focus on real-life problem-solving, creativity, and social relevance.

3. Shortlisting & Mentorship (21st September – 1st October 2025)
Shortlisted student teams will be mentored by experts from the Rapid Prototyping Lab.

Activities will include:

1. Interactive workshops on innovation, design thinking, and prototyping.

2. Exposure to success stories of young innovators and startup founders.

3. Hands-on support for prototype building using 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics, and fabrication tools available at the Lab.

• Students will refine their ideas into working models/prototypes.

4. Finals & Award Ceremony – 2nd October 2025 (Gandhi Jayanti)

• Prototypes will be showcased before a jury of experts from academia or industry, and the innovation ecosystem.

• Evaluation will be based on originality, feasibility, scalability, sustainability, and social impact.

• Top three teams will be recognized with awards, certificates, and further incubation support.

Themes for Problem-Solving (Aligned to Seva Pakhwada)

Students are encouraged to take up projects addressing real-life challenges under the following broad themes of Seva Pakhwada:

1. Health & Wellness Initiatives – nutrition, mental health, fitness, healthcare access.

2. Swachhata (Cleanliness) & Environment – waste management, plastic reduction, water conservation, clean energy.

3. Social Welfare & Community Outreach – solutions for inclusion, senior citizens, specially-abled individuals, rural development.

4. Digital & Financial Literacy – promoting safe digital practices, online learning tools, financial awareness.

5. Innovation for Rural Development – low-cost tools, smart agriculture, rural livelihoods.

6. Women & Child Welfare – education, safety, hygiene, empowerment.

7. Sustainable Living & Green Practices – renewable energy, eco-friendly alternatives, sustainable housing.

8. Environmental Sustainability – energy conservation, water management, biodiversity protection.

9. Education & Learning Tools – creative learning aids, accessibility in education, e-learning solutions.

Expected Outcomes

• Outreach to 450+ schools across the State of Goa ensuring maximum participation and awareness.

• Awareness among school students about innovation, problem solving, and the startup ecosystem.

• Active student participation in identifying and solving real-life societal challenges under the themes of Seva Pakhwada.

• Development of working prototypes and innovative solutions with hands-on mentoring and technical support from the Rapid Prototyping Lab.

• Recognition and encouragement of young innovators through awards, certificates, and incubation opportunities.

• Creation of a strong pipeline of innovative ideas registered on the Virtual Innovation Register (VIR) for further nurturing and scaling.

• Long-term impact in fostering a culture of creativity, design thinking, and problem-solving among the youth of Goa.
