MINUTES OF THE TENTH MEETING OF GOA STATE INNOVATION COUNCIL HELD IN THE CONFERENCE HALL AT DON BOSCO COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING ON 16-01-2019 AT 09.30 AM

Shri Levinson Martins, Dr. Krupashankara MS, Dr. Mridula Goel, Shri Kunal Upadhyay, Shri Deepak Parab could not attend the meeting and were granted leave of absence. Thereafter, the Chairman welcomed the members of the Goa State Innovation Council for the meeting.

2. At the outset, the minutes of the meeting held on 23^rdof January, 2019 were read and confirmed after which the agenda of the meeting was discussed.

3. Minutes of the meeting of the Committee established by the Council for ‘Empanelment of Patent Attorney under Virtual Innovation Register’ held on 11^th of January, 2019 was placed before the Council.

4. Goa’s Young Innovators Award was discussed and it was informed that the invitation to schools was sent on the 7^th of January, 2019. Chairman suggested to include one representative from the council and Prof. Raghuveer Vernekar was nominated from the council. The following panel was suggested:

The Chairman suggested printing hard copies of Goa’s Young Innovators brochure and submitting it to the Chief Minister’s Office for publicity.

5. The proposal to establish a chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Goa University was discussed. It was decided to forward the proposal for travel and accommodation budget to all the council members for their observation and comments to decide on the establishment of a chair in the next meeting.

6. The Project Officer updated the council on Sensitisation Workshops at seven schools at various locations in Goa. He also informed that a total of seven hundred and fourteen students attended the Sensitisation Workshop from seven schools. The Project Officer informed the council that the remaining workshop would be conducted before March 2019. It was decided to focus on Ideation for local problems like agriculture and skill development.

7. The proposal to establish a Tinkering Lab was discussed it was suggested that the Project officer visits the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay to obtain a suggested list of equipment that may be procured for the facility of Tinkering Lab at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda. It was further decided that quotations for this list of equipment be obtained and procurement be initiated as per the approved budget for this facility.

8. The Faculty Development Program schedule was presented and the council suggested sending the proposal to all the council members. Chairman suggested the Project Officer discuss the dates with the head of the colleges.

9. The proposal for website maintenance was discussed and the council decided to get multiple bids from different vendors.
